The Beginning

LUMA was founded on a simple but powerful idea: that the quality of light in a room shapes everything — how you feel, how you rest, how you live. Not as decoration, but as architecture.
We looked to Scandinavian and Japandi design traditions for guidance. Places where objects are made to last, where materials are chosen with care, and where beauty is found in restraint rather than excess.
Every fixture we carry is selected because it does something honest — it casts light in a way that makes a room feel more itself.

The Founder - Marco
I wanted to create a brand that took light as seriously as a great architect takes space.
Marco Sinclair spent years working across architecture and interior design before founding LUMA. He noticed the same pattern repeatedly — that clients would invest deeply in materials, furniture, and finishes, but treat lighting as an afterthought.
LUMA was his answer to that. A curated collection of modern lighting designed not to fill a room, but to give it atmosphere. Each piece is chosen for its honesty — the way it holds its form, the warmth it casts, the way it ages.
Based in Australia, Marco works closely with designers and homes across the country to help people understand that light isn't simply functional — it's how a space breathes.
